File Transfer Time Calculator

Calculate how long it takes to transfer files over a network link.

The size of the file to transfer. Select the appropriate unit (KB, MB, GB, or TB).
The network link speed. Common values: 10 Mbps (old Ethernet), 100 Mbps (Fast Ethernet), 1000 Mbps (Gigabit), 10000 Mbps (10GbE).
Mbps
Percentage of bandwidth consumed by protocol headers and overhead. Typical: 3-5% for Ethernet/TCP. Use higher values for VPN tunnels or heavy protocol stacks.
